Here’s a simple and delicious Cinnamon Buttermilk Bread recipe that you can make at home. It’s perfect for breakfast or as a snack with tea or coffee!

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup + 2 tbsp white sugar (divided)

2 tsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda

2½ tsp ground cinnamon (divided)

1 tsp salt

1 cup buttermilk

¼ cup unsweetened applesauce

2 large eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp unsalted butter


Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 175°C (350°F). Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda, 1½ tsp cinnamon, and salt.

3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, applesauce, eggs, and vanilla extract.

4. Combine Wet & Dry Ingredients: Slowly mix the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until well combined.

5. Prepare the Topping: In a small bowl, mix the remaining 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon.

6. Assemble the Bread: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the batter.

7. Bake: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

8. Cool: Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
