Homemade Pigs in a Blanket Recipe

Ingredients:

12 small sausages or cocktail hot dogs

1 sheet of puff pastry or crescent roll dough

1 egg (for egg wash)

1 tbsp water

1 tsp sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)

1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Dough:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out the puff pastry or crescent roll dough on a floured surface.

Cut it into thin strips or triangles (wide enough to wrap around the sausages).

2. Wrap the Sausages:

Place a sausage on one end of a dough strip and roll it up, leaving a small part of the sausage exposed.

Repeat with the remaining sausages.

3. Egg Wash & Topping:

Beat the egg with 1 tbsp of water in a small bowl.

Brush the egg wash over the wrapped sausages for a golden finish.

Sprinkle sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or garlic powder on top for extra flavor (optional).

4. Bake:

Arrange them on a lined baking sheet with space between each piece.

Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

5. Serve:

Let them cool slightly and serve warm with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
