Golden and crunchy on the outside, gooey and cheesy on the inside—these homemade cheese balls are the perfect snack! Super easy to make, they’re great for parties, kids, or just a cheesy craving.
Ingredients
For the Cheese Balls:
1 cup grated cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or processed cheese)
2 medium potatoes (boiled & mashed)
2 tablespoons cornstarch (or all-purpose flour)
½ teaspoon black pepper powder
½ teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
½ teaspoon mixed herbs or oregano
½ teaspoon salt (adjust as needed)
For Coating:
½ cup breadcrumbs
2 tablespoons cornstarch + 3 tablespoons water (to make a slurry)
Oil for deep frying
Instructions
1. Make the Cheese Ball Mixture
In a bowl, mix grated cheese, mashed potatoes, cornstarch, black pepper, chili flakes, herbs, and salt. Combine everything well until you get a smooth, non-sticky dough.
2. Shape into Balls
Take small portions and roll them into smooth balls. Make sure they are firm and not cracking.
3. Coat the Cheese Balls
Dip each ball into the cornstarch slurry, ensuring it’s fully covered.
Roll it in breadcrumbs for a crispy coating.
For extra crunch, repeat the coating process once more.
4. Chill for Best Results (Optional but recommended!)
Place the coated cheese balls in the refrigerator for 15–20 minutes. This helps them stay firm while frying.
5. Fry Until Crispy & Golden
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
Drop the cheese balls carefully into the hot oil and fry until golden and crispy.
Remove and place on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
6. Serve & Enjoy!
Serve hot with ketchup, mayonnaise, or your favorite dip. These cheesy delights are best enjoyed fresh and crispy!
Pro Tips
1. Make sure the oil is hot before frying; cold oil can make them break.
2.Want a healthier version? Bake or air-fry at 200°C (392°F) for 12-15 minutes.
3. Try adding a pinch of garlic powder for extra flavor.
Crispy, cheesy, and absolutely delicious—enjoy your homemade cheese balls!
