1 tbsp vegetable oil
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp smoked paprika (optional)
1 small onion, finely sliced
½ green bell pepper, finely sliced
½ red bell pepper, finely sliced
4 slices provolone cheese (or cheddar, American cheese)
For the Hot Dogs:
4 beef or pork hot dogs
4 brioche or soft hot dog buns
1 tbsp butter, melted
Optional Toppings:
Jalapeños (for a spicy kick)
Mustard or mayo
Extra melted cheese
Instructions

1. Prepare the Steak Filling
1. Freeze the steak for 15 minutes before slicing—it makes it easier to cut into thin strips.
2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Add the onions and peppers, sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened. Remove from the pan and set aside.
4. In the same pan, add the sliced steak. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned.
5. Return the sautéed onions and peppers to the pan. Mix everything well.
6. Lower the heat and place slices of cheese over the steak. Cover with a lid for 30 seconds to melt the cheese, then stir everything together.
2. Cook the Hot Dogs
1. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium heat.
2. Brush the hot dogs with a little oil and cook for 4-5 minutes, turning occasionally until browned.
3. Toast the Buns
1. Brush the inside of the hot dog buns with melted butter.
2. Toast them in a dry pan over medium heat for 1-2 minutes until golden and crisp.
4. Assemble the Cheesesteak Hot Dogs
1. Place a hot dog in each toasted bun.
2. Top generously with the cheesesteak mixture.
3. Add extra melted cheese, jalapeños, or your favorite sauces if desired.
