½ cup Kentucky bourbon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

2. Cream the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
5. Mix the wet and dry ingredients: Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour. Mix in the bourbon and vanilla extract.
6. Fold in the pecans (if using), then pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
7. Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
8. Prepare the glaze: In a saucepan, combine butter, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in bourbon.
9. Glaze the cake: While the cake is still warm, poke small holes in it with a skewer and slowly pour the glaze over the cake. Let it soak in before removing the cake from the pan.
10. Cool completely before serving. Enjoy!
